Hello everyone, we noticed this morning that our 3 month old Flemish giant started to curl/bend his ears as pictured. He did not do it momentarily, he is keeping them that way. We are a bit concerned as this is out of his ordinary. He is eating and drinking normal, also using the bathroom normally. As for his eyes they are a bit crusty in the corner of them. Last night we put in for the first time Tobramycin eye drops to hopefully help him. Any ideas on what might be causing all this?

I’ve never seen that before. It looks adorable (and he is a adorable!) but it’s so unusual I would be a tad worried. Have you got a bunny savvy vet you could take him to? Is he eating, pooping, as active as usual?

The only other information I can find is this thread, where it was an early sign of EC

I did read that with Flemish Giants that sometimes it can be from a growth spurt. I’ve also read it can be a sign of Vitamin E deficiency or dehydration – as well as possible ear mites.
But with the crusty’s in his eyes too I would also suggest taking him to a bunny savvy vet – especially if its similar to the post that S&L posted that ended up being EC.
            How are his ears today??

he is still bending them, we are feeding him kale to try and improve his vitamins. We attempted to call a vet to schedule a visit and get him neutered but they wanted $520 for a neutering. With the eye drops though he is doing better!

Why has this got anything to do with neutering? Can’t you schedule a regular appointment to get this ear and eye issue looked at, and then schedule a neuter later?

I agree with S&L – I would get him to get looked at. Hopefully its nothing major, but if it is then the neuter would have to wait anyways.
                  Keep us posted!
