This may sound like a ridiculous question… but if I lightly stomp my foot on the ground will my bunny know that it’s a thump and I’m “disapproving” what he’s doing? I’ve read different websites about the different meanings of thumps and one stated it could be disapproval. If he’s doing something I don’t want him to… like biting the carpet… can I stomp to tell him I disapprove? Or will he not understand because I’m not a bunny?

I don’t think it would be very effective, but you could try.

My only concern would be that bunnies primarily use thumping to signal danger. Sure they might do it if they’re annoyed or something (*ahem* Peanut) but it’s mainly to alert of danger so it might scare him?

I go down on all fours in front of our buns, almost nose to nose, when they attack the carpet and ‘thump’ a few times with a front paw, it can work

Im also a thumper at my bunnies. Blue thumps when hes scared, but the other two thump when theyre mad. Blue is able to tell the difference (most of the time; when hes sleepy, he might get confused). They all know that when I or my partner ‘thump’ it is because we do not like what theyre doing. Its helped a lot with training (getting them to stop eating the carpet, digging the carpet, tugging the gates, etc).
