My rabbit has a head tilt and cant clean himself, has yellow urine stains that will not come out with water. Been at it for an hour. Cant get rabbit shampoo. So I was wondering if I can make a home made solution. Heard of vinegar, but is that not bad for the rabbit. I mean the smell itself is bad enough, wont it be harsh on his skin.

I also want to clean a spot, that has turned dark brown all the way to the skin. Smell weird too. Not sure what it is. Dont think it is an infection, probably just a hard to clean spot for him.

No, don’t put vinegar on your rabbit. If rabbits have white fur, it sometimes does get urine stained, and there’s not really anything you can do about it. It won’t be bothering him, and if you’ve wiped it with water it’s not dirty, it’s just stained. Rabbit shampoo also isn’t really necessary, it’s just something that pet companies want to sell.

You can also try a dry bath, where you rub a little cornstarch into the fur, then brush it out, but I don’t think that will help staining.

I know you just rescued this rabbit, but with all the issues he has, it really sounds like he needs to be checked over by a vet. Something that smells weird and is affecting the skin could be a fungal infection or something else that needs proper treatment.
