This is my first post because I’m just heartbroken after losing my Ralph rabbit. I was his fourth owner, goodness knows why as he was literally the best rabbit anybody could ask for.
Everyday he would wake me by jumping into bed. Everything he did was just entertaining. I live on my own and he was just my best friend.
They think he was only four and I had him 2.5 years. I expected him to be around for much much longer. I thought I would have another few years at least. He was well looked after and an indoor rabbit.
He had suffered from GI statis before but this time was different. He still wanted to eat but wasn’t going to the toilet. The vet didn’t really know the answer and this bit is killing me. They said maybe a tumour as he was only responding to glucose injections. But he had been as happy as anything the day before. How can this be?!!
I miss you Ralph so so much X

I’m very sorry about the loss of Ralph. How sweet it was that he would awaken you every morning. I’m sure that he loved you very much and couldn’t wait to start the day with you.

I have lost several bunnies over all the years that I have had them, and it’s never easy. Rabbits can be delicate animals and leave us suddenly. Whenever they leave us, it is always heartbreaking. Maybe in time, you will want to visit a shelter or rescue and bring another bunny into your life.

                  Dear Ralphyralph1,

My condolences on your loss! Thank you for providing a loving home for Ralph. I’m sure it was a joy to him to have a safe place to live for 2 and a half years, without you in his life he may not have hard that!. As tobyluv says rabbits can be delicate creatures, even with the best of care the time comes for them to pass on. Thank you again for providing a safe, accepting environment for your bunny, and thanks for sharing with us about his life!

I’m so sorry about your bun . Your post has me in tears. Luna has been going through a bit of the spring crazies, and has been waking me up at odd hours by jumping on my bed and hopping all over my pillow. Now I will not take it for granted…even if it happens before 5:00 a.m. . You were both so lucky to have each other to share such moments.

Sorry to hear about your Ralph. But so loved that you took him in as the fourth owner and gave him the life he deserved as your “best friend”…cute. That is sort of the way I felt about Icey. I interacted with her more regularly during the last almost 8 years than any other living creature. So there was that feeling of best buds. And I so remember the feeling of the tiny weight jumping up on me, around me, scampering all over and investigating me, bringing me out of my slumber. Those little tickly whiskers about my face. You brought back wonderful memories. “Entertaining” is exactly right…endearingly entertaining. So many great memories.

And we thought we had some more years as well. Most everyone does. I hope you can focus on those good memories and cherish them. So many people don’t get to experience these wonderful little creatures the way you did. The loss is terrible, painful for sure. An incredible emptiness. But in time…

It continues to help me with my “coming to terms” sharing with everyone’s loss. Reading about their little precious family members and how they felt about them.
How they interacted with them. What they meant to them. It helps me to “feel” not just “know”.

Anyhow, I ramble. Know you are in my thoughts. Thank you for taking such good care of Ralph and allowing him to live a great life with his best friend.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my sweet little coco bear just last week ? he was such an amazing bunny, he was like a dog. He loved his multivitamins and his treats so much, and he just died suddenly. There was nothing I could do to save him, maybe it was a heart attack as he let out a squeal before he passed. I miss him more and more everyday, and I’m hoping the pain will go away in a few weeks. ? Just like some people had told me, remember the good memories with him, and maybe print out a picture of him and it it in a frame besides his favorite toy or treat, like I’m going to do.
