Hey all!
This is my Flemish Giant Chad,
We got him from a farming family which usually rather raise them more for food than pets.
He currently sleeps in a very large dog crate inside and is litter trained, and I’m covering all electrical cables in the hallway, kitchen and lounge so he can free roam.
He has an amazing temperament, even though at first he was very timid and shy (always flinched before being handled, likely due to previous living conditions) but now he follows me around inside and outside, and loves to “groom” me with licks.
When he wants his ears played with or scratched, he will come over to me and bat my hand up with his head so I can scratch him.
I have a question, however.
Today for the first time, he did nip, but it wasnt enough to break the skin. He’s not done this before, but afterwards I found he had urinated on the couch, so I’m assuming he may have been asking to be let down so he could go to the bathroom in the usual location.
Is it usual for rabbits to sometimes nip to communicate needs like the bathroom? I do plan on getting him desexed at the right age, and don’t think this is a dominance issue as he is always otherwise lovely.
He is currently 10 weeks old.
Thankyou!
