Well, here’s an update. First, Bun is fine, thankfully. Secondly, she wouldn’t go to the vet! The second she saw the carrier she bolted and turned into a growling hand slapping ball of fur! I couldn’t believe how burnt up and burnt out I was. I’m sure it was fueled by my worry for her as well as my concerns for my friend’s time as she was trying to take us to the vet…. But Bun Bun won the battle! As soon as I waved the white flag and realized I was simply not going to be able to get my bunny in that carrier, my friend left, and Bun flopped happily on her side on the floor near my feet.
I called Animal Poison Control as well as received advice from the vet, and being that so much time had already passed and Bun was not showing any signs of being ill in any way (guessing because she didn’t get a chance to eat very much) I stayed up most of the night to observe her. By morning she was in the clear of the 18 hour window and just fine! She is continuing to surprise me every day. I’m just so happy that she is ok. Of course, I moved the plant to a room she has not been given access to, yet!
