It is true that stasis can be caused by stress, but it can also be caused by a new vegetable, tooth pain, or seem spontaneous.

The important thing is to establish whether she is in stasis or not. I would recommend removing all but a small portion of hay, so that you can see if she’s eating it. Of course top it up if she does. Hand feed veg and pellets to see if she’s eating. Its also important that she keeps drinking.

If she isn’t eating or pooping, it’s a vet emergency and you need your parents to take her to the vet. You could show them some articles on how serious GI stasis is.

In the future, you will need a proper barrier between the rabbit and the puppy if the puppy causes such severe stress for the bun.

Seriously, your Mum might let her die because she won’t wanna pay for her treatment yet happily bought another animal into the home? Wow.

You need to establish whether your rabbit is actually eating and pooping. If not, she needs a vet. There’s no excuses.

Then you need to get your Mum to establish whether or not she’s eating.

If we don’t have any information it’s very difficult to help. The most important and relevant question is whether she’s eating.

@Sniffablecow – Can you call your mom and at least ask her if she can see if the bunny ate the veggies you gave her last night? Even let her know where in the cage you put the veggies and maybe how much you gave her (in case she just ate some)

As it sounds like you already know, GI status can go very bad very quickly and if it hits a certain point you HAVE to get them to a vet as they are not able to recover on their own.

If your mom says that yes, the veggies are gone (which means your bunny got a bit of water in to him too) than once you get home try what was suggested above with hand feeding to see if he eats that.
*Also, when you get home, clean out his litter box and any other poo you see around so that way you can see if he poops anything new.
*Also make note of where the water line is at in his water bottle (or in the bowl) to see if he’s drinking.

Ps, If your mom bought a puppy she is obviously an animal lover. I would hope this is more just that she is not educated enough to know how serious and life threatening a bunny not eating can be. Have her come on and read this forum! I didn’t know rabbits where like cows in that they need to be continously digesting food all day until I joined this forum when I got my first bunny. So she may just think its like if a cat or dog stops eating… you can wait 24 to even 48 hours before bringing them in to a vet – you can NOT do that with a bunny.

Keep a close eye on her poos too. If they get too small or too infrequent, that’s really not good. If a bunny’s GI tract stops moving, it’s very hard to get it going again. Hope she’s okay.

It’s great that she’s eating But do make sure she’s pooping too.
