Hi everyone! This morning I checked on my two spayed and bonded holland lops. One of them (pippin) was stretched out in the bunny flop, while the other one (Piper) was sitting right on Pippins head! They looked very relaxed, and pippin didn’t seem to mind. Piper was actually cleaning Pippins back at the same time. I then pushed her off Pippins head and she seemned to be fine. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this happen before and maybe some type of explanation! Thank you!

Pretty normal for bonded buns to have no concept of personal space

Buttercup will quite happily sit on Peanut’s head. She did it the other day actually cos Peanut was eating some dandelion. She spotted it, dived and landed on his head and just stayed there whilst gobbling up the dandelion.

Blue will push Bombur over and then flop on top of him. Bombur also likes to push himself – face first – under Blue while Blue is self bathing and theyll fall asleep in that awkward position. There have been many weird positions that I have to go back and check on them after a little while to ensure they both can breathe, lol

It could be more embarrassing; one of them could be mounting the other as a dominance show. Panda does that every so often to her own son Fernando! And I’ve frequently seen one of them piled haphazardly atop the other in a snuggle.

Sounds like a relaxing position, If it does not cause any aggression its fine.
