        hello.

today I found that 2 of Toby’s poops had a small white chalky stain on them. He has been eating his normal diet, so idk what could have caused this. also, for the past 3ish days, I’ve seen brown/orange pee in his litter box. Are these things normal?

He also hasn’t been all that good with eating timothy hay. He just waits for his serving of pellets. I only give a 1/4 cup a day.

Orange pee which some times dries to look brown is normal and can occur naturally for no apparent reason sometime.

Poo with white chalk around it has happened to Wick a few times so as long as it’s not regular, it’s probably fine. My guess is it’s poo that got covered on chalky pee sometimes, but it usually is a one time occurrence.

Thanks Wick! Your responds are always super helpful

I’m going to keep an eye on the poo to see if he poops anymore of those with the chalky stuff on it. I also thought it was pee. Isn’t chalky pee dangerous if peed too much of it? I read the cause is too much calcium in the diet. He hasn’t eaten much calcium so, I’m sure it just happened randomly without a cause.

It might also be really dried up pee on those two poops. We look for small spots of dried white on the floors of the cages in the rescue so that we can scrub them extra well because it means there is/was pee there.
