Today, I went into Gary’s room to give him a blanket, and he bolted out of his cage and bolted around the room several times.
I don’t think he’s scared of me, as he was following me. (But much faster than usual)
Normally, he tends to move fairly slowly for a bunny, so this is very strange.
He’s running as if though a pack of wolves is chasing him, and doesn’t seem to get tired.
What could be the cause of this?

Also, is smoke inhalation bad for bunnies?
My dad often burns the food when he insists on cooking, so I get very worried that it’ll affect Gary’s lungs.

If he bolted out when you came in, I would assume you surprised him and he bolted on instinct. My bunnies still do that sometimes, if I forget to say hi when I walk in, or stand up too quickly.

Bunnies have pretty sensitive lungs, so of course it’s best to avoid smoke, but sometimes these things happen! Perhaps you could start setting timers for your dad to help stop food burning
