Coco is I suppose a Lionhead ( unsure because his parents were rescues and the previous owners didnt know what breed they were). He is about 8 weeks old, and when I first got him, he had ears that would stick up. But now his ears have gone floppy. Not sure if hes sick because he eats and drinks well, and seems very happy and energetic whenever I let him out of his cage. I thought he was sad at first, so I groomed him and gave him treats but his ears are still flopped down to the side of his head and sometimes has airplane ears. What could this mean?

Lop breeds tend to “lop” their ears at anytime between 4 weeks and 12 weeks, but I’ve also read of it taking until 6 months!

Doesn’t mean he’s sad or sick, just that he has some lop breed in him. Some lops have good ear control and can look like little helicopters sometimes

You probably have a lionhead-lop mix?

          Can you post a picture?

I got Luna when she was 10 weeks old, and she had sticky-up ears. One day when I came home from work, they had lopped! She was somewhere between 12-14 weeks I think, although I can’t remember clearly.

She is half lionhead, half mini lop.

My bunny Sam is a lion lop, which is a lionhead lopear combo! Maybe Coco could be a lionlop as well, since you’re not 100% sure on the breeds his parents were

Sam should technically have two lop ears but one of them is still sticking up so he’s got permanent aeroplane ears haha. The vet said it could still drop before he’s about a year old though, so maybe he’ll be a full lop eventually!
