I’ve started the bonding process with my new bunny! I have some questions but before I get into them, Im gonna go through the details My first bun is a Holland Lop (Jarvis), and the new one is a Mini Lop (Stark). The Mini Lop is almost a year (April) and the Holland is around 2. They’re both neutered bucks.

Jarvis has asserted his dominance by mounting, and Stark hasn’t retaliated at all. He just sits and takes it. I’m assuming this is a good sign, because theres no fight to be the dominant bun. I’m just wonder what this means for the rest of the process. Does it mean a faster bonding period?

I also can’t tell if Jarvis is chinning Stark, or very gently nipping him.

I’m also not 100% sure what this is, but it seems like Stark likes to put his head against Jarvis’ side. It could just be the slippery bath tub. But aside from that, everything is going super well. No fighting, no blood, no hair pulled. Yet.

How long have you had them both? Have you done any prebonding?

I’m worried if Stark is super new, he’s just taking it because he’s in a new environment, but once he feels more settled he might retaliate and it will turn into a fight. It’s important to give bunnies at least a couple of weeks to settle in to a new home, and at least a month of pre bonding too.
