After my two bunnies were spayed, Cocoa refused to eat pellets. They were spayed on Monday. I have been leaving mash and pellets in her cage and she only eats the mash. She eats hay, veggies, and drinks water normally. Her poop is good. The vet did trim her teeth so I’m not sure if that could be hurting at all

If she wont eat the pellets, turning them into mash instead is acceptable as long as its roughly the same amount as youd normally give her if they were in pellet form I would also call the vet and ask for advice as her teeth shouldnt be hurting her after her trim.

How much pellet mash? As long as she still gets 80 % hay in her diet she should be okay until her teeth get back to normal. Sometimes, buns that have teeth problems need trims every couple months, so they do need pellet mash often. I meant to click yes on your poll btw. You should talk to the new vet that you have found about Cocoa’s teeth. It seems that the other vet has done something wrong with the teeth and maybe your vet can give your rabbit a new diet until it gets better.

She is still eating her hay normal. I feed her half of her pellets in the morning and half in the evening. I will call them tomorrow

It’s totally fine! Some people (I think Ellie? Or LittlePuffyTail?) feed soaked pellets/pellet mash because their bun inhaled them in regular form and almost choked.

Sarah, It’s Little Puffy Tail’s Bindi that gets mash every day, to eliminate the risk of choking. Ellie’s bun Breintje eats curtains and sewing material =)
