I recently upgraded my bunny’s cage and her new cage does not fit where her old cage was. For the last few weeks, yes WEEKS, she has been peeing and pooping where her old cage was located whenever I let her out to roam. Majority of the time she is out and so she is pooping and peeing more in that old spot than the litter box inside her cage!! I have tried to do basic litter training tricks like placing her droppings back into her litter box or using a little pee soaked napkin and putting that in her litter box but none of it is working! I will put boxes to try to baracade the area but she will just jump on the boxes and do her business. She is spayed so please help! I am tired of constantly cleaning up her poop and pee haha

You need to physically move her to the new litter box location. At the moment, she does not perceive that as being an option. Remember that rabbit’s are inclined to be litterbox trained because they are inclined to choose a place to go, and go there consistently. Your rabbit picked up pooping/peeing in her old cage’s location, not in a litter box, so although her new cage may have a litterbox, for her, that doesn’t really mean anything. Just as she had learned to adopt the old cage area as the toilet, you’ll need to guide her that the toilet is somewhere else now. Can you create an xpen around the new cage, sit in it, and monitor her for training sessions? Each time she goes, bring her to the new box.

I have been trying this every time that I catch her going outside the cage. I start to move her and she becomes so skittish that she just runs away and stops going to the bathroom altogether. I am not sure what else to do..
