so i’m fairly new to being a bunny mum. I’ve had Theodore for about 6 months now. And he’s always been super playful, and overall a happy bun. But over the last couple days he’s worrying me. He isn’t really drinking water, and he’ll only eat his food if i give it to him by hand. He isn’t running around like he usually does, he kinda just stares blankly without moving. He seems to be breathing faster than normal and has quiet little sneezes every once in a while. Is this something serious ?? Please help !! I’m super nervous about my little guy.

Do you have a rabbit savvy vet for Theodore? You need to make an appointment for him as soon as you can. Some of his symptoms might indicate a respiratory problem or allergies. He also could be headed for GI stasis or have some other condition, but he really needs to be checked out. I hope that whatever is wrong can be quickly helped by some medication.

I second tobyluv. Little guy is in distress.
He’s not passing the BAR test: Bright eyes / Alert / Responsive
Which can be serious. He needs an exam from someone who knows rabbits who can figure out why
            (Edit for spelling)

I agree that Theodore should see a vet. The fast breathing and little sneezes can mean he has a respiratory infection and needs antibiotics. A vet should listen to his lungs and heart. Something isn’t right, and the fact that he doesn’t eat unless hand fed is proof of that. Buns should always have a voracious appetite.
