My white bunny, Lily, is being protective of her stuffed animal. Every time I try to do anything in her cage, she runs in front of the stuffed animal and bites me if I’m too close. I can’t get her out of the cage to play with her. What do I do?

Okay. What do I do to get her out of the cage for now? She won’t let me near her or the stuffed bear

Do you have a pet carrier to put her in? You can put the carrier at the door and lure her in it with a piece of fruit. Close the carrier door and then lock it. Put her aside and make sure she cant see you. Then remove the bear. Put her back in the cage and see how she reacts. If she is stressed then add the bear back. Also try wearing protective gloves so when she bites you it wont hurt. I would try and get her spayed as soon as possible.

We don’t have a pet carrier at the moment. I tried removing the bear once and she freaked out. They are being spayed tomorrow.

My girl was like this even after getting spayed. Possibly the aggression stayed so strong because she was older when spayed. Over a year. I had to get her out of her pen to clean. Even giving her her food bowl would often result in grunting/pummeling.

Can you bribe her out with a treat?

Today she let me take her out of the cage, I just had to move the bear first so she knew it was coming with her. She won’t come for a treat.
