I’ve been trying to search for information on bonding 2 males and 1 female as a trio but haven’t had much luck. They are holland lops, the oldest is believed to be about 5 months old (boy), then another about 4 months old (boy) and finally the 2 month old girl (we know for a fact that she just turned 8 weeks). The goal is to have them spayed and neutered and then begin bonding the trio, but when we first got the boys they were bonded until about a month here at their new home. After about a month they began to fight, I assume it was a hormonal dominance battle so we separated them completely. We stopped trying to re bond due to more fights, and when they smell one another on us (for example if I clean ones cage out and give him attention and then go to visit the other they seem to either cower away or get aggressive and bite at my clothes). And today we brought home our little girl, the boys could smell her on us i assume and have both been circling in their rooms amd trying to get out. But once they’ve all gotten a bit older and have had their surgeries, is it possible for them to become a bonded trio?

It is possible. It may take a bit of work, depending on the rabbits. Some will bond with little trouble, some will take a long time!

You would definitely want to wait (as planned) until they are all desexed and even several months after that. The hormones can linger in their system.

If it takes a while before you officially start bonding work, you might be able to have them come together for short periods in a communal room, like the living room. Just for something social, like sharing a salad. I would only do that after desexing though. Any interactions at present will be highly dominated by raging hormones. :p

In three weeks (the last male was neutered a week ago), I’ll be trying to bond my two males and one female, and I’ll keep a bonding journal on here, so hopefully you’ll be able to see how mine goes
