cooper has been neutered for awhile now, and right after the neutering, he stopped leaving droppings on the floor and only went in his litter box like he’s trained to. but then he reverted right back and will leave single droppings in places. i don’t know if it’s deliberate to mark his territory, which would seem weird to me because he’s been neutered, or if it’s just an accident and he runs to his litter box. i really don’t think it’s because he’s not fully litter trained because he goes in his litter box 90% of the time, it’s just the single droppings he leave around the room throughout the day. i’m just trying to figure out why he could be doing this

To be honest, most bunnies still occasionally leave poops around. I think when most people say their bunnies are litter trained, they mean they pee in the litter box and 90% of the poops end up there too. Mine certainly leave the odd poop around. Maybe its just excitement/an accident etc.

Same here – Sam is well litter trained, I’d say about 75% of poops end up in the tray, 20% in his cage (he is free roam but cage door always open, & litter box is in there) with 5% in random locations around my room ;P

yes but it’s so often i could wake up in the morning and there will be 3-7 droppings there already. is that normal too?

Honestly, at the moment my bunnies are completely un-litter trained, because I have three singles and they’re all territory marking all over the place. I can’t remember the beautiful past where I would only wake up to 3-7 poops haha.

But they have been litter trained previously, and I do remember always finding some poops around, I just can’t really remember how many, because to be honest, anything would seem better than how they are currently

My bunny has an xpen cage that I attach another xpen to at night so that he can have some extra room. In the mornings, I usually see about 5 or so poops in the attached x pen and then a handful in his cage as well, outside of his litter box. He was neutered about 3 weeks ago. It can drive you crazy but there’s really not much you can do! Thankfully we love our bunnies, stray poos and all

My boy is about 5 months Not Neutered yet and all pee’s and 99% of poops in his litter tray, he’s free roam 24/7 so I always expected the odd one about kind of scared he’ll start spraying or something soon though!
