Hi I have a 9 week old mini lop and I have been very careful about her diet so far. Wondering if it’s safe for me to give her a papaya tablet? (10mg bromelain, 5mg papain, 20mg papaya fruit) I’m not sure if she’s too young for them or doesn’t even need them yet. Wanted to ask before I gave her one!

I honestly don’t know. If the Papaya tablets are made by Oxbow I suggest you email them and ask. They’re as a rule very good at getting back to customers.

Unfortunately they’re not the oxbow kind. But that’s good to know. Will ask the vet. Thanks!

You can of course email to the company that makes the papaya tablets you have and ask them. It’s just that I know that Oxbow are good a thing getting back to customers. But I’d think most companies would be happy to answer questions about their products.

Maybe you can give half a tablet, then increase as he grows older.

Are they the the Trader Joes ones? I give those to Bombur when he’s going through a particularly troublesome molt (which is always). He’s never had any issue with them, but I didn’t start giving them to him until 6 months old because of the fruit.
