        Hi all,
So we have two new bunnies both girls. They are 3 months old. When we got them from the pet store they were living together with some other buns.
We got them home and they got on fine. We’ve had no trouble.
Long story short one of them has broken a
Toe by jumping out of the run. She had to go to the vet the other day for scans and since she cane
Back to join the other one the other keeps bumping her.
Willow is the one with the broken toe. She seems less active at the moment- probabaly because she’s in pain ( she is on metacam, and we hare sorting out her toe)
I’m not really sure what to do. We’ve been separating them as in one in the run and the other out of it in the room but I’m not sure if I should be doing that or not really it should I just let them get on with it.

Any help would be great thank you

You will need to keep your bunnies separated at this point. At their age, they are nearing or entering puberty and will be dealing with all the hormones that brings. Besides humping, they may very well start fighting. Rabbits can severely injure each other when they fight. And if they do fight, they likely will not want to be together in the future. Rabbits can hold a grudge.  It doesn’t matter if they’ve been living together and getting along up to now, when you start dealing with hormones, everything changes. And are you absolutely sure that they are both females? Many people have been told that, then they end up with an unexpected litter.

Keep your bunnies separated at all times, they shouldn’t even be let out together for a few minutes of play. They will be old enough to be spayed in 2 or 3 months. After their surgeries, you should wait a month or so for the hormones to abate, then you start bonding procedures.

Here are 2 good articles on bonding:
