I have a almost 9 month old Unspayed Female holland lop. I got her almost 7 months ago and she has been amazing! she was the best bunny in the world and was super snuggly and playful but in the last 2 months she has become agressive, Bitting, scratcing, and digging. I beleive these are all signs of her hormones, as she is unspayed. I am planning on getting her spayed in early april. Do you think spaying her will get rid of this terrible behavior. I miss my old bunny .

If these behaviors are from hormones, yes, they will lessen just in case though, do a good evaluation of her care and health to ensure it is hormonal and not her being frustrated for any other reason (i.e. health ailment), stressed, or depressed.

It would also be good to know when she displays these behaviours – for example one of my rabbits scratches and bites when shes picked up – that’s not terrible behvaiour, its just her letting me know that she doesn’t want to be carried, which is fair enough.

Digging is a natural rabbit activity, and also shouldn’t be counted as terrible. Perhaps you could make her a digging box?

My unneutered male recently started biting my hand when I reached into his hutch – that is naughty hormonally driven behaviour.
