        Hi,
My French Angora has lots of mats on his hind feet, I brush him about once a week, and I noticed he has a lot more than usual. What Can I do about this? I am afraid his paws are hurting him. I have tried clipping the mats, but they go down to far. Please give advice! Thank!

I personally don;t own an anagora, and my bunny is a short furred, but my friend says she usually trims it, and if you can get him to stay still, try brushing the straight up so you can trim more. Ultimently, unless it is a heavy, thick matting, the matts are probably nothing but a minor annoyance. But I do reccomend getting something figured out! I hope you find something that will help!

Top or bottom? Wooly will get these weird matted tufts on top of his feet. I just cut them off.

I meant Matt’s on the bottom of his feet. He sometimes gets them around his feet or legs but those just pull out easily and it doesn’t hurt him. The ones on the bottom I think are hurting him because he steps on them every time he walks.

You could try trimming them down a bit. I would be careful though not to remove all of the “padding”.
