        Hi everyone,

My baby girl Charlie has been under some stress recently with my roommate ( her other ‘mama’) moving out and someone new moving in and i noticed recently as of 2 days ago she hasn’t been eating much, she wont touch her pellets but will eat carrots. lettuce, broccoli treats andmost of her hay. Tho she’s hardly drank any water, I’ve given her a bowl of water thats been untouched,I’ve cleaned out and re filled her water bottle twice I even tried to force feed her some water but all she did was fight me and get very angry.

Her behaviours been relatively normal maybe more naughty then normal tho that could be because she’s not fixed ( i’m trying to save for it my vet is asking 500$). I’ve also noticed that she’s bee rubbing her chin on things a lot more then normal ( i understand thats a hormonal thing)

Im at a loss of what to do, i had a breakdown tonight because she’s still acting like herself so i don’t want to rush her to the vet just yet and have to use my savings for her fixing but I’m also very worried about her. Could it just be stress?

Are the veggies served quite wet? If so, that could be why she’s not drinking. Is she peeing a normal amount? Is she pooping? What are her activity levels like, I. E. Is she lethargic at all?

Great that she is eating hay! That’s the most important thing

As Sarah said, wet veggies could be why she’s not drinking as much, but it’s the best thing to give them wet. One thing I do to get my bun drinking more is squeeze a little fresh fruit juice (apple, pineapple) into his water.

She could still be adjusting to the change. You could also try hand feeding her pellets one by one to get her to eat them. But if she is eating her hay, wet veggies & treats, I don’t think it sounds like a vet emergency

Let us know more about her energy levels & toilet habits too.
