Outdoor buns in snow?

  Hey, anyone reading.
  
  So I live in Ireland where generally it’s raining and cold in winter…but this winter there have been two “ snow” days.
  One was a while back maybe a month or so and the other… well it’s right now.
  The first one caught me by surprise but this one I noticed in advance.
  
  So we also have 4 adorable buns who live outdoors. To our supprise whether rain or shine they never like staying in the cage we have. We’ve kind of just accepted this but still on very rainy nights we still worry and check all of their supplies (e.g. food, water, straw, etc…).
  
  Back to the point, today it is snowing and is forecasted to have snow in the morning too. I doubt that this’ll be answered before tommorow especially due to time zones but still.
  
  What I’m wondering is this:is it ok to leave outdoor buns in a walled garden with a table ( that has straw under it) and bushes during times of snow?
  Also if not/ not advisable what can we do for the future to help ensure healthy and happy buns?
  If absolutely not advisable, also then what do I do?
  
  I know that was a longwinded and winding question and I thank you for reading it!

  Hi. I used to keep my buns outdoors, and I know what u mean about them hanging out in he elements. My bunnies would relax on the grass in the rain even though they had a hutch. They loved playing in the snow. They were honestly more comfortable in cold weather than in warm weather. They would dig in the snow and run around. As long as they know where their shelter is, and it will keep them out of the rain and wind, trust that they will use it if they need to.

  I agree with vanessa and think as long as they have a safe shelter to go to whenever they feel cold then it will be fine. Just make sure to check on them often and make sure they have fresh food and water available for when they want to take a break.

  You would b surprised how much water they drink when it is cold… Keep it topped up.

  Thank you very much for responding.
  It definitely makes me feel better knowing that they aren’t in danger in the cold weather.
  They have a couple “ shelters” they have claimed as well as a cage with sawdust.
  We’ll make sure to check up on their water supply more often.
  It’s good to know that our buns aren’t the only ones to stay out in the rain too!

  Thank you as well, it’s really nice to get advice about these sort of problems.
  They have a couple of shelters that they have adapted to be their own as well of course as a cage.
  We check food and water regularly, especially during cold times and we will make sure to always make sure that their water, hay and food pellets are well stocked.
