Kahlua had started loosing weight recently but was really crashing fast. Friday we saw one of our regular home vets and she was sending us today for some bloodwork and xrays, but prescribed an opiod in the meantime for possible pain (she had some arthritis) -Kahlua started crashing yesterday. We went to emergency but they aren’t that experienced and just got us some comfort care as Kahlua was seeing a rabbit vet today.
She was hypothermic even with added heat and they were getting fluids into her and when they were taking her out to put a feeding tube in, she passed away. I am so sick that I wasn’t there with her. We did have a good snuggle before they hospitalized her, but I wish I’d known and then I would have had her PTS instead of trying to stabilize her and find out what was going on.
She would have been 11 in July. She and Kokanee were the reason I found this forum and spent so many years with you all.
Binky Free my poor little girl -I will miss you so much. I’m so sorry.
I’m having trouble loading photos

It sounds so tragic to lose your rabbit like that. I wish you the best. I know having to lose a beloved friend is very hard. Me and my bunny Caroline send our condolences.
Binky Free, Sweet Kahlua
Hi KK, so nice to see you. Although I wish is were under happier circumstances.
Kahlua was a special gal and will be missed. I’m so sorry for you loss.
Thank you both
I can’t believe it.
Tonight is the first time in 12 years I won’t be feeding somebunny (or doing meds, eye drops, bandages etc)
I hope you start to feel better about losing your special friend. Rest in peace Kahlua.
Here’s a link to when sweet Kokanee passed away, her first bunny friend. Though the picture links are long gone, there is the genesis story, and they are together again though I’m sure Rupert is happy to see her as well.

Oh, little Kahlua…
Im very sorry (((Lesley))). As you say, she’s reunited with Kokanee and Rupert now.
I was able to fix photo in your 1st post. Beautiful girl! My most memorable of Kahlua is her in the little “lingerie” number. I think it was a pet outfit with pink fluffy trim but the way she posed made it look like she was modeling.
Thinking of you tonight. xxx
Amazing Binky
How beautiful the honk
That saved a shelter animal

I once had no hay

I was feeling the ((((vibes)))).
Well that’s done. Wow I am a really weird person when you think about it. Geez, I sleep in the same room with a bunny. I wonder if my friends think that’s weird. I should probably stop talking. Still sad about your loss though, hope you enjoy the song! Its Amazing Grace bunny version.
Hi KK.
I’m so sorry about Kahlua. It’s so extra sad that you didn’t get to be there with her, but you just wanted her to get well. I hope she is with Rupert and Kokanee now, binkying away over the endless green fields beyond the bridge. She was so beautiful.
Binky free sweet little ****Kahlua****
I’m sad she’s passed on but happy she got to live a long happy life with you. ((((Binky Free Kahlua with Kokanee and Rupert)))))

I’m so sorry. I know that Kokanee and Rupert are taking good care of her over Rainbow Bridge.
Binky free Kahlua
I can’t believe I’m seeing this
Lesley, I am so deeply sorry to hear that little Kahlua has gone.
There are no words that can bring much comfort at a time like this. I am still reeling from the losses I suffered last year. It seems like all the “old guard” of BB.com is leaving us and yet I would’ve thought they’d all have gone on forever on bunnitude alone.
Yes, she is reunited with Kokanee and Rupert, Chuck and Noot too. And I’m sure they’re all watching over you with love. <3
(((((((((Huge hugs)))))))))) coming your way, and I’ll add my inbox is always open if you need a chat.
Sleep well, little Kahlua. <3<3<3
Oh no not again. I remember you too. I know I havent been on in a long long time but dang. All our buns are leaving us. The old timers. Dang.
Awe. Binky free as Cotton Boo McChew is there to greet you. Lovely meadows of flowers and their favorite greens and herbs are there.
I am so sorry to hear we are losing our buns us old timers. Awe. Too soon to darn soon. They leave holes for us to help other preloved buns.
I’m very sorry for your loss
She was really stunning! It’s amazing to see that she was so well-cared for that she lived to such a ripe old age. Binky free Kahlua!
Sorry for your loss as well. I relate. We all do. There is still an emptiness from when our little girl passed.
Almost 11 years is awesome! I love her picture. I just want to reach in there and give her light little pets while she chomps on her greens. Precious.
Binky free (((Kahlua)))
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. What a beautiful, sweet bun who lived a long and happy life with you and her bunny friend. You did everything you could and gave her so many years of love and comfort. Binky free, Kahlua.
Thank you so much everyone for your kind words
They mean a lot and I come here often to read them.
Yes Mimz-the old guard is leaving us
She was my last bunny.

I remember you telling a story about waking up and not being able to go back to sleep one night. And then Kahlua and Rupert came up on the bed and binkied about over you and Dave. It had you wondering how often they did that at night when you were both asleep.
So when you’re really missing your guys, just imagine them coming to do this, and bringing friends. No aging bodies, no gimpy legs, just binky-fests 24/7. : )
I’m so sorry for you loss.
What adorable photos –from the little itty bitty puffball to full grown bunny diva.
What an amazing life they had with you. How lucky they were to be so loved.
Binky Free Kahlua, glad you get be together again with Rupert.
The pictures are so lovely! She resembles a little fluffy squirrel in that last pic =)
Such a beautiful little lady she was.
