Hi all,
I just brought Hazel to the vet yesterday for a follow-up appointment to check out her teeth. The vet said everything looked good.
Today, when I went to give Hazel her morning veggies, she sniffed them and walked away and layed back down until I brought her fresh hay. She has been eating the hay all day, and at one point she huddled up in her litter box (she doesn’t usually sleep in there).
When I try to bring her veggies she nudges them away. She is normally VERY excited about her morning veggies and runs around making noise if I don’t bring them to her soon enough.
So this behaviour is really abnormal, and it’s been about 4 hours now and she still hasn’t touched the veggies. She has been eating a lot of hay though (which is usual for her), and she will eat the homemade treats that she loves when I give them to her, too.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Why won’t she eat her veggies? I was thinking perhaps she got a bit of a chill yesterday when I brought her to the vet (it was snowing out but she was only in her carrier outside for a minute). Or maybe just recovering from the vet appointment since she was stressed over that. But not sure why that would involve refusing to eat vegetables which she normally loves. Any insights would be appreciated.
