So I’ve read that lavender helps to deter flies. I’ve also read that rabbits don’t like the smell of lavender but they eat it?

I want to put lavender plants around the room to keep flies away from his hutch, but is the smell going to annoy him?
        Highly confused on this matter!

I doubt the smell would annoy him. Some buns eat lavender, mine have always refused but that’s normal, my Bam loves basil, other buns won’t touch it.

You could perhaps start with one lavender plant? If he seems uncomfortable with its presence you could move it to the kitchen or someplace else?

Sirius used to love to eat lavender, I can’t really see how the smell would annoy them if they like to eat it?

I agree with Bam, start with one, and if he doesn’t seem distressed add more. I really can’t imagine it would bother them though!

May I ask – why are there flies around his hutch?

It’s summer here at the moment so flies are everywhere. I have the air conditioning all day so there’s hardly any flies in the room that he’s in but there is sometimes the odd fly or two. I keep his hutch clean but flies are pretty persistent things!

Ah okay, I thought perhaps there was an infestation or something but one or two shouldn’t cause any issues providing the bunnies living area and toilet area are clean
