        Hey guys!

It’s been mentioned to me before, and I’ve read on a couple websites, about the use of fly/insect shields on an outdoors hutch for when he ventures in to his outdoor hutch. I’ve had a look around online and seen ones of a few different materials ie. fibreglass, stainless steel, aluminium. I’m not too sure what materials are safe/unsafe for rabbits, so any advice on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I think generally any material could wind up being unsafe if your rabbit shows an interest in not only chewing, but attempting to eat it. I don’t have any experience with fly-screens, but I think just purchasing one that best suits your needs and monitoring the reaction towards it may be a good step.

I would not go aluminum though. I think some aluminum is comprised of tiny shards essentially, and I imagine that’s not good to chew on at all. That’s why people clip aluminum foil to sharpen nail clippers.
