        Hello everyone!
Im Chloe and im new here. This is my 1st post! So basically I decided to get two house bunnies! I didn’t bother checking backgrounds etc. As I only want these for pets so didn’t really see the need to have all info on them. I didn’t buy them from a pet shop or a reputable breeder, I just saw an ad that the guy was trying to get rid of them so I took them.
So anyway I was told my male was a continental giant and my female was a french lop. I bought them at 20 weeks old but they were really small for their age.
So now, 8 weeks later they are still pretty small, around the size of an adult Dutch rabbit. This doesn’t seem right to me as I googled it and it says they should be much bigger. The male conti weighs around 3-4 pounds and the female french lop weighs around 2-3 pounds. They are fed unlimited timothy hay, around 2 handfuls of greens each (kale, sometimes spinach, fresh grass) and then I mix up their veg every day but they get around a handful of that each and a small amount of fruit each plus 1-2 tablespoons each of pellets a day so I think i’m feeding them okay and they arent underweight at all.
I was just wondering if you think they are mixed breeds or a different breed altogether? (Not that it bothers me whether they are or not. I love them either way. Im just curious)

        Thanks guys!
        Chloe

P.s. I can attach some pictures but I’m not sure how to so if someone could help me with it Ill add some

          Welcome to binkybunny!

My Gail is a conti cross and she weighs about 5 pounds fully grown, but her brothers were much bigger. They were rescues so we weren’t entirely sure what breed their dad was.

If your boy is a giant you’re going to need a good amount of space for him, so best to get advice from someone who can take a proper look. Have you been to see a vet to check they’re both doing ok?

At 28 weeks old you are going to want to separate them now if you haven’t already. if you don’t you run the risk of fights and a pregnant bunny.

Hey! Dont worry Ive seperated them for now but their cages are close together so that bonding is easier when i get them both done they free roam in seperate rooms though (one downstairs and one up)

Hey! Thank you so much! 5 pounds is good for me Ill take anything as long as he is healthy! I haven’t had a vet visit yet, I wanted to get them used to people so as not to stress them out when they go to the vet as they were very nervous when I got them! Ive got a visit booked in for next monday and dont worry about space! When they are both fixed I plan on letting them have full free roam of the house and garden (when im around to supervise). At the moment they are both semi free roam with cages next to each other but free roam in seperate parts of the house
