Hello there and congrats on the new bunny

There’s a couple of things I can think of that could be causes for this. The first is the flooring. What sort of surface do you have around the litter box? Wooden floors, tiles and plastic are all quite slippery and many rabbits are quite hesitant about moving around on slippery floor as it’s hard for them to get their footing. Putting down a fleece blanket and weighing down under the litter tray on one side and a heavy bowl or hidey house on the other can be a way of providing some traction. Floor/area rugs are another idea

My second thought is that he is simply still settling in. Though it would seem unusual to me for a 10 week old to not move around much it could just be that he’s still a little nervous. It’s great that he is eating well though

I agree that it could either be the flooring or that he’s settling in. For any aged bun, moving to a new environment can be pretty stressful on them, so some will be pretty skittish for a while. With my boys, Bombur was relaxed and doing binkies as soon as he was out of the carrier, and Asriel huddled in one spot of the x-pen the entire night (and most of his first 3-4 months with us). If he is nervous, the best thing you can do is be patient and just sit near him (occupy yourself with a book or movie or your phone) and talk softly to him. Eventually he’ll come out to explore you and the new environment. Don’t be too eager to pet or handle him, just reach your hand out after a while and if he bows his head, then it’s okay to go in for a few seconds of pets. Not too much as you don’t want him to feel overwhelmed.

As for the hopping, Asriel does that. He’s very lightfooted and he always seems to gracefully move like that. Bombur on the other hand, well his butt just kinda follows him. xD

Welcome to BB, and it’s wonderful to hear you have invited a young rabbit into your life. I hope these forums will help you and your rabbit grow happily! No one is ever 100% prepared for rabbit ownership; it’s a learning process and these forums are a helpful place to go to, especially when you’re unsure.

You are describing behavior of a rabbit settling in and getting acquainted with their surroundings. Wick does the “army crawl” (that’s what I call it) when he’s going under low-ceiling nooks/crannies, or if he’s “scoping out” a situation (i.e. rounding a corner to find food). The flooring is a bit part of it. Rabbits take some time to acclimate and adjust to smooth flooring, which is one reason why having a lot of soft, solid flooring is recommended. Navigating on smooth flooring requires some more active thought and foot work for rabbits, so initially, a lot of rabbits will avoid slippery floors all together.
