Hi guys, I built one of these post-fires to make sure I wasn’t sucking more wildfire ash into my apartment, and thought other’s might like it too, especially those with allergies!

It’s been really helping cut down on dust in our apartment! You can either just run it inside as a filter, or place it in your window to purify the air you intake.

The basic idea is a duct tape a furnace air filter to a box fan. Select the grade filter you want based off what level of filtration you want:

The forum is auto-correcting part of the URL to another word…. but if you google, “diy-fan-air-filter-on-the-cheap”, it will be the top link!

Thank you for this link! This project looks really cool and I’m glad to hear it’s been working for you.

There was a thread a few months ago about air purifiers and none of us ran into this project. I appreciate that it is fairly inexpensive and all the supplies are easy to come by. I’ve been struggling a lot with general allergies and hay allergies so this might be worth trying. Much appreciated!

Always love a DIY hack. Thanks, Dana. I wonder if this could help Goose with his sneeziness? It would be a good way for me to test if it’s dust that irritates him.

I was getting an error page when I tried opening the link and couldn’t figure out why. Obviously, it worked for pinknfwuffy, right? Then I looked closer at the link… The BB filter altered one of the words in it. Haha !

So Dana, I have edited your post to overcome this in case anyone else ran into the issue I did.
Pink, if you’re reading, how did you open the article?

Jersey, if you edited the post it didn’t work, because I still got a link error, but I also figured out the spelling correction

Lol! BB site wins again. The filter must have changed word again even when I tried anchor to text.  Thanks for letting me know.

I’ve changed it back to the way Dana first had it.
So peeps, if you haven’t figured it out yet: in the address, change the “eo” in “beotch” to an ” i “.

Hahaha! Sorry! I can also try hyperlinking it so it doesn’t actually show the link? Let me try….
