Anyone able to tell what these are?  My other rabbit has started grooming his ears rather roughly.  Have had him for six weeks.  It’s possible they’ve been there for a while, but I never noticed until tonight.  Edit: Both ears are similar

        Thanks for any help.

There’s a high chance something is bothering him about that ear, leading him to groom it so there’s blood spots (what I see in the photo). I recommend seeing a rabbit vet when possible to test for mites and infections.

To be safe, maybe clean all his bedding and fabric items in case it’s contagious.

How is his eating, pooping, energy level, and any other places of excessive grooming?

He eats a lot of cardboard, a lot of edible log, a lot of hay. Poops a lot, haven’t noticed any other strange places on his body indicating excessive grooming.

The other rabbit has started grooming him, but she’s quite rough and sometimes he moves away, possibly because she’s just too rough, and she focuses on the inside of his ears.

I think a vet should have a look and prescribe some Revolution (selamectin) (or ivermectin, if your vet prefers that). You can treat with Revolution or ivermectin on suspicion only.

Warning that we always issue when someone brings up a possible parasite-problem: Do not use Frontline or any other compound containing fipronil on a bunny. It’s deadly toxic to rabbits.

Looks like scratches. His ears are probably itchy due to mites, ear wax or infection.

Okay thanks. One ear has either cleared up a little or I was confused about it being both ears. And he’s a little difficult to get pictures of inside the ear.
