I have noticed that sometimes my 10 month old Holland Lop’s body moves up and down when he’s breathing. Sometimes it looks like he’s breathing heavier but other times he looks likes he’s not breathing as hard. My husband and I took him to the vet when we first adopted him when he was 8 months and she said he was perfectly healthy. I just want to be careful and not oversee something that might be a bad sign.

It’s hard to know without seeing a video, but it doesn’t sound unusual. I can normally see my bunnies breathing when they’re lying down. Can you hear any noises with his breathing? Is it something that’s started or changed recently?

I always think this when my bunny lays down, I can see his belly move up and down quite a bit.
He’s been checked over at the vet and has his lungs checked so I’m pretty sure it’s just normal

Sometimes the whole bunny body can sort of heave when the bun is resting. Many people report that about their buns, and it doesn’t seem to be connected to any health problem.
