My bunny jumped out of my arms onto the side of her travel carrier whilst it was open. I dont know if she could have hurt her ribs or insides doing this. I sort of caught her when she hit it…and she didn’t seem bothered. It was only half a foot maybe less. Just worried the the thin edge could have hurt something.

She was at the vets today for annual jag and I mentioned it on the way out and was told not to worry. And they got their check up and nothing seemed ammiss. She’s eating as normal as she would be for being in the huff after the vets. Moving around and grooming and being feisty as normal. Is there anyways to tell over the next few days if there’s an issue? Should I be worried or Not? I am a worried but obviously want to avoid unneccassary vet visits as it will cause stress to her and be a waste of another’s valuable time.

        Thank you

Rabbits do hide their pain, but from what you describe she sounds like she is OK. Especially since she had a vet check up after it happened, right? The vet shoould have been able to feel any skeletal problems during the exam. Or did it happen at the end of the visit?

If she is eating, pooping, and behaving as normal, then I think she is likely fine, especially since it was from such a low height.

The main symptoms of pain in rabbits are sitting in a hunched position, being reclusive, and grinding their teeth (often you can see their ears tremble when this happens). Some rabbits will also squint. Reduced appetite as well.

Since your vet didn’t mention anything amiss and things seem normal, I think you can just continue to monitor poops and activity level as normal.

Issues can come up by your rabbit not behaving the same as usual. This can be but is not limited to being more hunched than usual, not eating, having irregular poops, and having irregular movements.

            Best wishes!

Ok I’ll keep an eye on her behaviour today. It was just before the vet visit. I only mentioned it on the way out and the staff seem to think there was no cause for concern. When the vet was following through on the annual check up (you know breathing, heartbeat, stomach, general feel all over) she said everything seemed a ok. But I hadn’t said at that point as I was focusing on stopping her and her brother from eating the vets computer (whoops)!

So I guess I’ll just keep an eye on her. She’s definitely eating and drinking the now and I’ll see if she does her usual made run around tonight and then I’ll proberly feel better about her.

              Thank you.

Although, bunnies are quite hunched over creatures…Will it be quite obvious if she’s more hunched? Sorry. Thank you

More hunched than typical I suppose is more accurate. The inability and refusal to lay down and relax is another way of phrasing it.

                  No need to apologise!

Chances are she’s absolutely fine so as the others said, just keep an eye on her particularly her eating and pooping for the next day or two
