I’ve had my bun for about 3 months now and I’m just wondering if his behavior is normal. He seems really comfortable around me from what I know and when I sit in his play area with him he binkies and jumps and seems to be having fun but he doesn’t really seem to care for pets or rubs. He’ll sniff me and climb over me but other than that it doesn’t seem like he cares I’m around. But he only binkies when I sit with him. I know some bunnies just aren’t as cuddly, I just want to make sure this is normal or if im not doing something?

It sounds like you have a very happy rabbit It’s quite normal for many rabbits to not like or be indifferent to being petted. It’s simply not natural for them to be held etc. Where are you petting? I find that all my rabbits have enjoyed being petted on the head, from just above the nose to between the ears. Petting over their body and back tends to be more of a zone that can make them back off a bit.

My boy Apollo is a love bug and loves having his head petted. He will come up to me to be pet. My girl Luna is different and will accept head rubs, but not all the time and she doesn’t come up to be petted. Every bun is different

Thanks this makes me feel better! I’ll try petting on his head more and see if he likes that. Thanks for your help
