my rabbit is 3-4 years old she seems to be eating fine and there’s no lethargy but today i noticed she kind of scratched her nose using our rug and when i checked her nose the hair was thinning i would love to post a picture of it but you can’t see it in pictures because it’s not thinning a lot or enough to make a regular person notice but because she’s with me 24/7 it does look different to me the hair is thinner and is shorter compared to the rest of her body, what could it be? at first i thought it might be fur mites but if it is fur mites why would it effect the nose only?

Could it be new growth of hair? My Yohio had a period when his nose had short hair, but it was from shedding. He looked very silly.

How does the skin on her nose seem?

the skin on her nose seems normal it’s pinkish but the normal type of pink although you can’t see that much of it because the hair thinning looks more like a buzzcut

If the skin is fine and smooth, my guess would be it’s new hair growing out after the old hair has shed off. You’ll just have to observe it. Signs that there’s sth bad going on would be scabs, sores, angrily red and irritated skin, dandruff-like skin flakes. If everything is ok, this hair will just grow out and she’ll look like herself again in a couple of weeks – a month.
