My bunnies (brother and sister) are about 6.5 months old. They were best friends when they were younger but we had them separated for about a month and a half while they were both fixed. The first time we tried to bond them after the seperation they broke out into a huge fight so we keep them in seperate cages but right next to each other. We have been putting them into a small carrier so they can bond and then into a neutral territory (for about a month now). She tries to be dominant and starts humping him (which he just lays down and takes it) but when he tries to mount her she seems to get very annoyed and they break into a fight. And usually when this happens they give off a really strong stinky odor.

Has anyone had these issues with their bunnies? I would like to have them free roam together but the rate we are going at seems like we need to keep them separate

The stinky odor means youre doing this too early. Stink means hormones. Males take about 2 months to drain their hormones. Females can take two to six months. You are going to have to slow down and stop bonding for another month. If in a month you smell the stink again, wait another month.
