Hello! My bunnies tend to tip over their water bowls often, does anyone have any non tipping bowl recommendations? They have water bottles as well but both prefer bowls and they tend to make a big mess with it haha. Has anyone tried one of those clip on water bowls that clip on the wire cages(they make it for birds and dogs)? I thought about trying one of those but I’m not sure if they could still tip it over or not.

The bowls they have right now are just a regular ceramic one and a stainless steel one that has a rubber grip on the bottom. They tip them over when they get the zoomies so I’ve tried putting the bowls out of their way but they always find it haha.

If anyone has any recommendations or advice I would be very grateful! Thanks~

Hello! Ah, this seems to be a common problem for many people. I’d recommend one of the bottomless waterers, they are pretty heavy and hold lots of water, hard to tip over as well (If you get the right size, of course, the bigger the better). This is the solution many people have said works, but I have not yet tried it myself. Best of luck!

          Have a great day, -L

Hi! Mr Bean uses a drinker with a two liter upside down water tank, which will fill up the attached bowl automatically when the water level gets low. I thought it might be designed for dogs, but it is heavy enough and seems “tip proof”.

Like DanaNM, we use a very heavy ceramic dog bowl as a water bowl for both of our bunnies. The bowls are straight edged so they’ve never been able to tip those. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Ethical-2-Inch-Stoneware-Crock-Dish/dp/B00025YU3Q/

Just want to add that I’m not fond of self-filling bowls cause it’s always better to have fresh water and throughly clean the bowl often I know I’d slack off if I had something like that lol

Anyways, my bun’s bowl is an ashtray made of solid marble, so it weights a lot and can’t be moved even if he tries!

How large are your ceramic bowls? You could try a heavy ceramic dog bowl, one of those really big ones. I have one of those Otherwise the clip on ones could work well though you would have to be able to anchor it fairly low. Some of them have a slight bump on one side so that they can only be removed from the holder if the bowl is twisted a certain way.

These were my 2 main bowls I used for my buns. The ceramic one was pretty heavy but Obi-bun was able to still push it around or grab it with his teeth in attempt to flip it & spill it still. I always took the bowl out for a while any time he started deciding to be a little butt
I definitely LOVE using the stainless steel ones that attach to the cage. No way of tipping or pushing!

Mine have a ceramic bowl for water but its on a no slip flooring. I had to get a bigger bowl for food since Sif likes to push Thor’s head out of the way.
