  So yumi has started to lunge and growl at people in her room. At first I figured it was just her way of protecting her home from strangers. But I’ve noticed that it seems to be happening more frequently. Even If I go to move past her she immediately lunges, or runs away-lkle she’s frightened-despite warning her that I’m going to do it. She then will immediately lick and move away. Not actually biting or anything. And she’s still loving and affectionate once she’s established she’s safe
  The last vet visit she had her eyes checked as I thought it might be that but they apparently look clear
  I’m just worried that she’s stressed unnecessarily and I’m missing something

  Has any scents changed in her environment? It could put her on edge.
  Perhaps she feels insecure due to a physical discomfort. Did the vet do a general check up?
  
  I hate to admit it, but Wick blindly lunges at hands in front of him occasionally now, due to his now very long treatment for ringworm, which requires me to hold him in place twice a day for 15minutes while I wash and slather stuff all over his face. He lunges at my hands often during this now, and it now occasionally occurs when I’m helping him eat hay in his boxes.
  
  Because of my experience, I think she could becoming hostile if she feels more intruded on than usual. Do you perceive this happening, whether it be you or others are giving her more attention than typical?

  If you’ve already ruled out health issues (I assume so because of recent vet trip) I would look at environmental issues. If nothing else has changed, think hard if anything about her routine has changed.
  
  For me, I’ve noticed that Ophelia needs a lot of attention. That’s why I wanted to bond her, since I work from 8-5. That didn’t work out, unfortunately. I try to spend a lot of time with her when I am home, and I have noticed that if I have arrangements with family or something and I spend time away that I’m usually home, she is typically a little upset at me when I get back. Or she’s really sensitive about her morning pets, if she doesn’t get them she will start to tear up the couch and just lunge/bite and be generally angry.
  
  She’s so sensitive lol but if we stick to our routine she is so super loving
