Weve got a few bunnies who run around our yard sometime between 2am and 5am. They nibble on the sticks and plants (tomato) outside and they seem to run around/play in the snow on our patio area, too. I havent seen the bunnies themselves yet, but I check out their new foot prints in the snow every morning (because its kind of cute to see). One of the prints is pretty normal sized for cottontails I see; around the size of my mini rex’s prints. But the other prints are very small, and I know babies dont tend to hand around mommy after leaving the nest, especially in the wild. If I could guess the size of the smaller prints, I would put them a little smaller than my nethie’s. The back foot print measuring just around 2.5 inches or so. Is it possible for wild rabbits to be dwarves, or a wild baby hanging around its mommy, or is it more likely someone released pet rabbits? If its very likely they are released pets, Ill try staying up for a few nights to get a good look at them. But if its not likely theyre pets, I would rather not lose out on sleep.
