  Hello,
  
  I have a 8 month old holland lop named Penelope and a two year old holland lop named Tucker who live in seperate, but adjoining hutches. They’re very sweet fun rabbits, but have ridiculously different personalities.
  
  Penelope, after 7 months of pretty good litter habits has decided, in the last two weeks, that her corner style litter box needs to be dismantled and moved out of the way so that she can pee directly underneath. If we zip tie the box in place, she pulls the screen off and digs the litter out putting it all over the floor in front of her hutch.
  
  Things we’ve tried:
  
  Moving the box to a different spot where she potties.
  
  Placing her feeder right next to the box so she can’t eat without sitting on her tray
  
  Replacing litter with one part clean yesterdays news, one part debris from places she’s peed to get the smell factor.
  
  I don’t mind trying a different style of box, but it seems odd that she didn’t mind it before and then started hating it overnight. Tucker has two of these corner style boxes and does great.
  
  Any advice appreciated!

  I wonder if something has scared her when she was using the box (loud/strange noise)… or maybe she hurt herself getting in? … to cause an overnight change. If you have an old dish pan or Pyrex dish(nice because it’s too heavy for her to move easily) I would try to see if a different box would work. You say you use Yesterday News (me too!) … maybe adding a thin layer of hay on top to make it more comfortable?

  I could be totally wrong, but just wanted to shared these thoughts because you never know that the cause may not be so directly related to the litter box…
  
  It sounds like a restless rabbit. Are they in a small or medium enclosure, pen, etc? They are so young, so they might need some time to run around and let the energy out.
  
  Another issue might be the rabbits could be bored or lonely. Maybe rotate out different toys? Maybe relocate their homes where people are constantly passing by saying hello and giving them pets more often.
  
  What made me mention these comments where things I noticed when my own rabbits were tossing their litter box around.

  Another thought is cleaning the actual box with vinegar and water. Urine that seeps down below the litter can cake in the bottom and dirty it up.
