It’s very cold in the area I’m in right now, so I put a dog bed in my bun’s cage. It’s a medium, smallish size, but is really fluffy, with puffed up edges. I don’t know if my bunny likes it or not. He spent ten minutes scratching and kneading it. And stuffing his head into the creases. And treating it like a punching bag, at least that’s what it looked like for me. Does this mean he’s frustrated by it? I don’t want him to feel cold in the night. That’s why I put it there. There’s also a memory foam mat underneath it which covers the whole floor. I don’t want it to be stressing him out. How can I tell if it is?

If he tries to get rid of it for over 30 minutes, I would consider removing it from the cage. Does it take up a lot of space?

Mine often do that with new things before deciding they like it

The best way to keep bunnies warm is giving them lots of straw to burrow into you can also get bunny safe heat pads, which you could put in a corner, I can’t remember the name though.

Yes, he spent like an hour trying to beat the bed up. It takes up like more than a third of the cage. It’s pretty big. I’m pretty sure he hated it. I will try to find something smaller next time. Or go with the heat pad idea. And the straw, if I can find some around my area.

Yea, doesnt sound like he liked it in there. Thats ok, some bunnies are just picky I second the heating pad idea, actually. I have one for my Badger (he gets cold super easily in winter) that we use at night. Its small and doesnt take up a lot of room, so he can also move off of it when he gets too warm.
