Hi! My name is Grace I have 3 rabbits all housed together, Maisie and Clover get along just fine. But my one bunny, a Holland lop named Elliot has been acting strangely. Since I got him he has been antisocial, very territorial, moody, and overly aggressive. Whenever I or another bunny moves too quickly in his direction, he will lunge and bite. His biting is very soft, but if he felt the need, he could very well do some damage. I have concluded that he is the alpha bunny and that he wants to assure dominance over my two other bunnies. he hides in the corner constantly, and never plays with anything. He is always very tense, and unwilling to be pet. Holding him is a times nightmare, as I have dropped him many times because he has bitten or scratched me. I’ve tried separating him from the other bunnies, but sadly he gets depressed and even more aggressive.
I have been trying to repair the relationship, by not leaving when he attacks, holding my ground, and having alone time with him in my bedroom, and trying to make sure he comes to me to check me out and not the other way around. Is there some sort of therapy that I could pursue with him? I don’t want to get rid of him, I love him very much, he isn’t to the point where he is drawing blood yet, he’s just a pain to handle and take care of.
