Hi. I have two free range rabbits. They live in my living room. The only time they use their cage is when they’re eating hay, using the bathroom, or when I’m vacuuming. Their corner is kind of an eye sore. I’m wondering what other people have done to make their bunny homes “blend in”. They lay on the rug or couch, they have their little hidey tunnel and toys, and they use the cage for a litter box and I have a small litter pan next to the cage as well.
Has anyone ever used a cat little box? I would just line it with newspaper and hay, but one of the nicer ones with a cover.
I would love to be crafty enough to build their cage into a small wooden dresser or table so it goes with the living room, but I am not. And can not spend hundreds of dollars to have one made.

Any ideas or pictures would be appreciated!
        Thanks all!

I’ve added some mini bunting, some fabric hearts, and a sign onto my buns’ indoor hutch (where they can’t reach it). I think it’s cute every time I look at it! I also got them nice bowls.

Unfortunately, I don’t think a litter tray will ever look nice!

Maybe you could try covering some of the cage with nice fabric? If they don’t use it a lot then that could also double it up as more of a hidey hole.

My bunnies have Harry Potter themed names, so at one point I wanted to Harry Potter theme their whole area, but I soon realised that it would quickly get nibbled/peed on/thrown around ?

Wick has three stations in my place. They look like this, though this is the one with the main water bowl. You can definitely use a covered box, but I suggest uncovered first since the initial tunnel may seem more like a shelter than a litter box.

Wick also has the ikea bed as his main entry way to the sofa.

I haven’t done this myself (yet), but there are lots of awesome “hacks” for hiding cat boxes using Ikea furniture and similar type things: https://www.google.com/search?biw=1411&bih=883&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=JC5QWp2uJoK_jwSEhpl4&q=ikea+hacks+cat+box&oq=ikea+hacks+cat+box&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i24k1.6781.6939.0.7282.2.2.0.0.0.0.121.201.1j1.2.0….0…1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.1.121….0.aDwO3r0h9bg#imgrc=_

I was just looking into similar things myself. There are also lots of cool ways people have turned cabinets into bunny hutches. If you got a cabinet at a thrift store, it might not be too expensive or require too much modification. I think the main thing is usually taking away the doors:
              https://www.google.com/search?biw=1411&bih=883&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=LC5QWsTHNYfqjwSC_KTwCA&q=bunny+hutch+cabinet&oq=bunny+hutch+cabinet&gs_l=psy-ab.3…110448.114133.0.114277.21.19.1.1.1.0.117.1602.13j5.18.0….0…1c.1.64.psy-ab..1.15.1116…0j0i67k1j0i8i30k1j0i24k1.0.95_Sl2HbhxA#imgrc=lpFK1nGaEyi_9M:

I would avoid completely enclosing the bunny box… as tempting as it is, because you wouldn’t want a build-up of urine fumes. There is a bunny on instagram with an amazing litter box built into an ikea storage container, but i looked up the container and it’s quite expensive, but might be able to do something similar with a cheaper piece of furniture (maybe a laundry hamper): https://www.instagram.com/p/BZ4KxfuBC2F/?taken-by=mr_big_ears_yoda
