I have several wood toys that my rabbit ignores, but he loves the rubber on my duck boots, the leather straps on my purse, and my faux leather gloves. Does anyone else have a rabbit that likes to chew rubber or leather? I haven’t seen any leather toys for sale for rabbits though…

We were just talking about this somewhere else, lots of rabbits love rubber for some reason!

Mine have eaten the buttons from my tv remote.

Obviously though, rubber and leather aren’t good for them. Of course, occasionally they get to things they shouldn’t, but it’s best to try and prevent it.

Mine don’t like blocks of wood toys, but they love apple twigs, willow tubes, and I gave them a huge lilac log that they stripped the bark off over a few months. Cardboard is also safe for them to chew, so experiment with a few different options!

My boy bun eats plastic and rubber! No idea why it’s so enticing.

My bunny does the same! I’ve bought her so many wood chew toys, willow toys, apple twigs, grass mats, etc. and she doesn’t chew on any of them. I just have to make sure all leather and plastic items are out of her reach, but I do wish there was a chew toy I could get for her that she would actually like!

Really wish I had read this post before we bought $200 worth of bunny toys ._.
Yeah, mine won’t touch her toys either, but she did start chewing the bird’s toys, scaring the lights out of our bird.
The wood seems to be safe for bunnies, so maybe try a bird’s toy instead?

Yes my bunnies surprisingly like the taste of wire when I first got them I let them run around my room and I had the cord to my iPad out and I left the room for two minutes and *poof* the thing was ripped to shreds and also it was plugged to the wall….. Luckily they didn’t get hurt…. and sadly after that with me being to careless or thought they were in a safe place they somehow also managed to chew through a lamp cord, another iPad charger, and two headphone cords…. *faceplams* luckily they didn’t get hurt… but I eventually found something that keeps them entertained enough that they just leave them alone… CARDBOARD! They absolutely love it! So… that’s my solution and I suggest just keep on trying anything like phone books, baby keys, grass balls, etc.

Mine is 13 weeks and she shows no interest so far in wood toys. Just chewing everything she shouldn’t!

Ditto. Mine won’t chew wood but they love toys made from unpeeled willow. And yes, we’ve lost many power cords, remote buttons, pieces of shoes and purses, etc etc etc.

Mine too! He ignores all the wood toys and paper toilet rolls that all the other bunnies seem to love!
But he is obcessed with my boots, my belt and recently, cables! 😮 Oh, he started to bite his cage like crazy lately. So I thought I would try some rubber toy for dogs to keep him occupied.
I went shopping and I came back with a small rubber bone (orange, the same color as the soles of the boots he is obcessed with), a carot made of rope and… cable protectors!
                        Result:
                        1) He ignored the orange bone I put it on the floor next to him and bit my boot instead;
                        2) He pushed away the carot I laid on his bed.
                        3) He liked the cable protectors and start chewing them before I even had the chance to put them around the cables!
                        I’m in trouble!
