We recently bought a new hutch for my bun, though we haven’t set it up yet. We’re moving her from my boyfriends to my house soon and I’m hoping to get some advice before we set it up. I’ll attach a picture of the hutch, but basically it doesn’t have a bottom, so we will place it on a tray that we already have. However, it tends to get really dirty and the grooves make it incredibly hard to clean. I’ve been thinking about cage liners, and I’ve also seen a lot of good things about fleece. She’ll have access to her litter box, of course, but she’s not completely litter trained yet, so I’m hoping to find something that will make cleaning up extra messes easy while still being safe.

        Thanks in advance

What a lovely hutch. Make sure she’s not in there for long periods of time though; attaching a large X-pen around would be best if you want an enclosed space. When she becomes more litter box trained, the preferred routine is free-roam, as much as possible.

A high-wall litter box (if the ceiling is high enough so she can jump in) will reduce hay fling and poo fling, and also prevent peeing over the lip. I recommend having a spray bottle with water and vinegar handy, and towels to reuse as you do cleanings as well.

Putting rolled up towel against the corners/walls may help so it’s easier to wash those than try and scrub near and in nooks/crannies.
