I want to get my rabbit Cinnamon a companion. But I also want her to have enough personal space. Cinnamon is a somewhat large-ish rabbit, about 7 lbs, and I’d want to get her a companion of similar size. But my apartment is only 725 square feet, and while I’m out of the house or sleeping I keep Cinnamon confined to an area that is only 300 square feet (and which includes my bedroom). Would this be a large enough area for two rabbits of Cinnamon’s size not to feel cramped? I also don’t have a yard, unfortunately.

300 square feet is more than enough space! She’s a lucky bunny to have so much space to free range in.

What you would need to consider would be where the other rabbit would live while you ‘prebonded’ them – so get them used to each others scents by swapping litter trays and toys for a month, before you actually introduce them. The easiest way to do this is to swap them between two spaces/cages every other day, but if you don’t want to cage her even temporarily, then litter trays would probably work for getting her used to his scent. The problem is, you also need her to stop feeling territorial about ‘her’ space which might be trickier. You also need a neutral space to bond them in

Feel free to ask any questions about the actual bonding process.
