Jasiri is so adorable!

All of the pets except Eevie (She is to spazzy) have a New Years party! Sweetie (hiding under swivel chair), Rye (Standing in the doorway not knowing what to do), Reese (partying on top of cardboard box), Vinny (Somehow opened the food box and is pretending it is an all you can eat buffet), and Leo (Looking for a raisin that he dropped ten minutes earlier).

Yesterday was Thor’s gotcha day. Feeling very lucky to have had her for this last year, she makes every day better She got a hay cube for her “cake” and loved it. 

She gave me a present back this new years morning. When I got up (later than normal) and went to pet her she rolled over under my hand and completely flopped. First time she has ever done that! It was so trusting and adorable. She lay there for 10 minutes, eyes closed enjoying being stroked. Love bun.

It’s been a crazy up and down year for me, but I am SO glad that I decided to bring a bunny into my life. She has done absolute wonders for me and is my source of emotional strength.

Im a crappy owner. : (  I posting about Timbu’s birthday late. Does he share a BD with Ophelia? His was nominated to be on the 1st. 1/1/11 – so he’s just turned 7 !

The only recent pic of him. I’m pleased he’s taken to this little bed/mat. It took him around 2 weeks before he deigned to use it. 

Thought I’d add some pic of this little one also. On Tuesday, I came across a rainbow lorikeet struggling to fly. It wasn’t a fledgling and it’s tail appeared to look a little odd. There was a flock in the trees watching us but we made the decision to take it and get it looked at. Hard choice to make!

In the end I think it was the right one…  I took it to a bird carer who volunteers for a bird rescue and this one sat quietly on her hand as if it were a pet.  She also noted the wings appeared to be clipped on one side. So she thinks he likely was not wild, but had tried to join a wild group and was ousted.  That made me feel better about taking him away.  Anyway, they rehabilitate birds and try do group releases or they asses whether they are better suited as a pet and find them homes. 

Some quick snaps I got of him. The close ups are of him sitting on the carers hand. He knew she was a bird person, for sure!

I got a Cricut machine for Christmas- seriously LOVE this thing.

I’m working on some bunny projects and I saw an idea that I thought was just SOO cute and I had the recreate it… It will be cut out in vinyl and attached to a mug, what do you guys think of the design, any tweaks I should make before cutting it? (vinyl is expensive lol)

In the category “Well, I never…”: Breintje decided yesterday that he is a lap-rabbit from now on…

Little mister “don’t pick me up, I want both feet firmly planted” just jumped onto my lap yesterday. I had wrapped myself in a blanket and was knitting on the couch. He put his head on my leg and sat there purring for 15 minutes or so.
Afterwards I had to put him next to me again because the pressure on my right leg was hurting my lower back, but it was very cute to have him there ^_^

Breintje is fulfilling his New Year Resolution! Good for both of you! Too Cute! Fingers crossed my Stewart bun comes around to this.

One of my resolutions is to try and sneak more fruit into my BF’s diet. I found just the way: frozen banana chunks with a splash of OJ and some fresh fruit = a really tasty smoothie (and 2 servings of fruit ). It’s best when the bananas are nearly walking&talking, because they’re the sweetest then. I regularly make a deal at the greengrocer’s now to take his “unsellable” bananas away.

When Breintje smelled the banana he went wild, and kept following Bas around the room with his nose in the air. “I know you’re guilty of hiding a banana from me, mister! Can’t fool the nose!” Bas put the glass down so Breintje could have a few licks. Crazy bunny, we can’t sneak any fruit past him…

I swear two days ago she looked well cared for, now she appears to have been mauled by the molt monster. Drowning in fluff! 

Ah, winter.. ‘t Is the season for snuggles ^_^ Warm blankies, warm chargers, cozy boxes and a nice rug. Loving all your pictures!

Thor’s sporting the “run over my a lawnmower”-look Still adorable though!

The moult monster has struck here as well, I combed several hands full of fur off Breintjes butt. Last year he stopped mid-moult and it left a line across his back, with a thick layer old fur on his rear. Luckily the old fur is coming off during this moult. The old fur has a tendency to form tangles and Breintje doesn’t allow firm brushing, so I have to lift him up on the dining table and put him on The Towel of Shame… To get the tangles out of his dense fur I roll back his coat, and comb out the part directly underneath with a very fine flea comb. That gets the tangles out, finally I found something which works! Breintje twitches a lot during the process, but he also showers me in licks when I give him a break. Afterwards there are no angry thumps, so I suppose he doesn’t really hate it. But he doesn’t allow combing when he’s roaming freely, I have to restrain him on the table to keep him from running. Bunnies are weird…

Haha, poor Thor. Looking pretty rough! But still adorable. Sterling just regrew a big fur hole he had in the middle of his face.

Wick’s doing okay! His fur is growing back on his face, though he still is quite bald in the crook that his paw perfectly covers in this picture, plus that area where his paw and neck meet.

@jg – That’s a noble profile, lighting or not. He can stand up to thunderstorms no problem, but random sounds humans can hear, that’s suspect!
