  So I’m currently doing my research on rabbit first aid kits and what they need. I’ve found a few different versions of potential kits online, and I’ll probably combine all of these into one to have everything possible. But before I start ordering stuff, I wanted to know what everyone here has in their first aid kit! What do you all suggest? What are the important things to have for rabbits in terms of health, in your opinions? I’m open to suggestions. Thank you!

  Well… I’d say a very basic kit could be:
  – Gauze & desenfectant for scratches/injuries;
  – corn starch (for nails accidents);
  – Metacam (meloxycam) + syringe (+ a note with vet’s recommended dose according to your bun’s weight);
  – Gas drops (+ vet dose)
  
  My bun’s kind of a special needs one, so the kit that leaves home with him has a lot more drugs and an ever present bag of critical care in case stuff goes bad

  It’s a prescription antiflammatory (that’s why I specified the dose has to be said by the vet), but it’s very useful in a lot of situations, so that bottle always travels with my bun Just don’t DIY and always always ask your vet

  Hm, I think I won’t mess with the prescription drugs without a vet’s consultation first. Just doesn’t seem safe.

  I’d say most people’s first aid kits are stocked as their rabbits become ill. Outside having critical care, q tips, gauze, syringes of critical care, and simethicone, there’s not much else required unless your rabbit has gone through something and you have extras.
  
  Many people have left over metacam from a spay/neuter or another procedure. Metacam is good in the fridge for 6mo.
  
  Many people have probiotic supplements which are a part of antibiotic treatment.
  
  For Wick, I have various sizes syringes and needles from his medical treatments.
  
  For medications, aside from simethicone which I bought, the rest are from past treatments
  
  1) Silver sulfadiazine – topical cream to treat burns/fungal infection
  2) Clotrimazole – topical fungal infection treatment
  3) Nolvasan – topical cleaning soap; given for fungal infection
  
  Other items I have
  1) Record of all vet bills which list meds and examinations
  2) Extra treats for emergencies
  3) Pee pads

  I’ve got metacam, baytril, and subQ fluids and IV kit in mine. I know how to dose and administer, thanks to my amazing vet.

  Simethicone is the #1 thing I always have on hand. I always make sure I have a non-expired bottle before any Holidays when the stores won’t be open.
  
  A hot water bottle or pet warming disk are a good idea too. A bunny in stasis needs to be kept warm.
