My rabbit, Boone, hasn’t appreciated being held since he was very small, but today when I picked him up he actually stayed put and seemed to enjoy the head rubs I was giving him. He has also seemed very tired all day and spent most of it sleeping. I would be overjoyed if I suddenly had a bunny who liked to be held, but it being out of character for him makes me wonder if something is terribly wrong. He seems to be eating and eliminating normally, and has spent most of the day flopped in various locations.

He did have about a 1-hour car ride today, but he’s made the same one a few times before uneventfully. He was also neutered 17 days ago. Not sure if either of these might be responsible.

After my rabbits neuter olaf got so cuddly and wanted more attention, neutering a rabbit takes away hormones that would make a rabbit grumpy or aggressive. Boone could be realizing that he enjoys cuddling now that those hormones are gone. Try cuddling and handling him more often and see 8s that was a one else time ever thing or he really does like snuggles.
